Stephen has been a practicing psychologist for more than 20 years. He is a full member of the peak professional body for psychologists: the Australian Psychological Society (APS), and is fully registered with AHPRA.
Prior to becoming a psychologist, Steve worked as a secondary school teacher. Steve also has many years of experience working as a school psychologist in Gippsland.
Helping individuals overcome difficulties that have been preventing them from reaching their potential has always been the focus of his work. He uses a values and strengths-based approach with his clients. He uses strategies as found in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
He understands the importance assessment can play in setting realistic goals, especially for young people, providing IQ assessments and reports for children between the ages of 6 and sixteen.
